MR. CARL FERRIS
THE FREMONT STREET EXPERIENCE

When people come to Las Vegas, they usually head to the strip. But the smart ones also make the trek downtown to Fremont Street. What they find there is five football fields of outdoor fun and several local entertainers. One that really stands out is Mr. Carl Ferris, a phenomenal sax player who also sings with a deep soulful voice.  His music is all his own original songs.  As you walk closer and closer, you first hear his wonderful sounds, then you suddenly see a large circle of people surrounding Mr. Ferris, as he interacts with the audience.  Even the most shy and timid seem to come out of their shells, swaying to the uplifting sounds of his sax and even dancing on the street.  Carl's music is inspirational and uplifting, yet at the same time, sensual, comforting and oh so relaxing.  This is a truly wonderful experience as he wows folks each and every night!  I used a slow shutter speed, large aperture and a tripod for this night-time photo, trying to focus on Carl Ferris and blur the background enough for Mr. Ferris to stand out.  But once you listen to Carl Ferris, you realize he stands out no matter what the camera setting!!!
